Hi all-First post for me:
Was reading about this FID feature at the ABIT site and was wondering how it relates, if at all, to the quandry over the post week 39 lockup on the XP processors. Is this a good reason for me to get an NF7/AN7 board. I think my CPU is all locked up.
Thanks

Here's the deal: CPU's used to have this lock on them, let's call it lock #1. Mobo manufacturers, seeing a way to make money, found a way to unlock #1, so AMD now has what we'll call lock #2. #2, as far as I can tell, is like what intel does, so that even the motherboard can't unlock it. Basically, if you're looking to buy a barton, your mobo won't unlock week 40+ for you.
