Hi All,
Just doing an upgrade but have a small dilema.

I have the choice to buy a PIII700 that will most likely clock to around 1000MhZ or I can get a PIII866 for around the same price, but will probably not be able to get much extra from it.. I have researched the cpu database on overclockers.com and it seems the 700 could be the way to go. What's your opinion, please help me decide.. This will go into a Abit SA6R Mobo..

Many 700s will run at 933 without a problem, which is obviously faster than 866 while both are at 133 FSB. Since the AGP/PCI dividers are happy at 133FSB that is a big plus. If it goes higher, you're still no worse off than running the 866 above 133, but be faster as well.

get the 700E....933 is almost sure...too bad i had to raise the voltage of the 700E here to 1.75 to run 933 stable....the thing dies after a while when the 700E@933 is just at 1.7v.

I would get the 700e, I just ordered one also. The 733,866,933 P3's are all 133mhz fsb, which doesn't allow much overclocking.
