Hi guy's i have noticed that now i run at 960 with fsb of 160:?:40 the setting in the bios is manual and i use the 133:133:33 setting with pc133 cas 222 7/9 i have much higher bencmarks than when i set the fbs at 184mhz and loose the 133:133:33 setting as wel the cas 222 that have to be set to 322. I also get random reboots at higher speeds . I still want to hit the magic 1 gig , will the wire trick help ? i am allready at 2.00vcore. Thanks for any thoughts on this one

How do you get it to 184mhz FSB?? damn... what kind of RAM you got in there..Super RAM?

I'd be way careful with that vcore voltage.

I got my 800eb running with 256mb of Micron
PC133 ram completely stable at cas2 with 150fsb.

If I put the 2nd, idendical chip in, I have to switch to
cas3 for 150fsb, or I start getting page faults and junk.
512 runs great at 150fsb with cas3 set.
It will also run at 140fsb at cas2 without any problems.

This is all at 1.65, default core cpu voltage.

I tried cranking it up to 1.7 and 1.75 briefly to see
if it would make any change, but it didnt.

Only thing that seems to help stablility at speeds
higher than 140fsb, is tweaking the various memory
options in the bios.

Since the .18 coppermine cores mostly top out at
900 to 1000 anyway, I figure one at 901, 150fsb,
will have much better performace than a system
at 1gig, with a much lower fsb speed.
Unless the only thing you do with it is crunch numbers....

My only problem now is deciding if I want to run
256mb at cas2, or 512mb at cas3....

I could run the 512 at cas2 if I drop the fsb down to 140,
but then I'm not overclocking my MB as fast as it will go...

You might even want to try some tests changing
nothing but dropping your vcore down a bit.....

No point in running the chip hotter than it needs unless
it actually makes a difference.
