hello dere.........
i was curious. im trying desperately to get my p3bf to run stable with my p3 700@933...........i can do that no problem, but my games freeze upon execution. all of them. ive got good cooling going on in the case......and i think its either 2 things.......my processor(which i really doubt) or my memory which is generic. its a slot 1 board so i bought a slotket that has jumpers on it(abit) unlike my last one. question is what should i set the voltage to be on it??? 1.65, the default?? or should i bump it up to 1.70 or 75?
if so, what should i change it to in bios also??? than for trying to help me get this settled.........im almost there......i just think it might be my crappy no name pc133 ram.........

Your system looks good, I have roughly the same setup and I'd like to point out a few areas to look at, they are slotket settings, pci/agp devices and memory. The slotket should be jumpered for 100mhz , vcore you set manually to 1.65 or 1.7v to increase stability, another thing to look out for is the rev.2 model of the Abit adapter. There was a lot of posts about problems associated with this particular card, I had this one initially didn't like the results and returned it for an MSI Ms-6905.

In your bios under the frequency settings there should be an auto or auto detect option select this, adjust your fsb setting to 112 or 117 (if you have it) to start and proceed slowly.

Some hardddrives and video cards are finicky when o/c'ed so swop them out to test. Also, I have generic pc-133 ram and I don't have problems in that area.

hey,

do you have the p3bf as well??? there is no auto for core voltage. just goes from 1.65 and up. i set the slotket to 100 mgtz and 1.65v. i then tried upping the bus speed a little at a time with no other cards in my system. i noticed a big temp drop with the new slotket. great...but.........same ****. my games still freeze on the intro this time. all of them.
i tried switching memory speeds as well with no luck. still searching.............i have an asus v6600 if i didnt mention b4. thanx

You need more core voltage. Try 1.8V at least for 933 MHz.
