Ive recently set up a wireless network but have been having trouble setting up WEP. Ive managed to set up the key for the network on a wireless hub but when it comes to setting that key up in xp it fails and i cant connect to the network.

The key is a 128bit key

Problem is when i try to type in the pass phrase in windows it says the key is the wrong length.

So i cant connect to the network

anyone know how i can fix this?

in windows xp it is not asking for the passphrase, it is asking for the key. the key is the HEX hash of the passphrase. If you have a linksys router, after you typed the passphrase, you would see the hashed network keys in the boxes below the passphrase labled key 1 - 4...

get teh hash, put that in WinXP and all should be well...
