i own a" gateway" pentium (3) 500 mhz with 100 megs of ram. 6 gig hard disk,its a laptop. i was wondering if overclocking was possible in this pc. or is it even possible in laptops or even p3s ??? any help or direction would be appreciated

Well I don't really work on Laptops, but on a desktop style motherboard there is ussually Jumpers, that allow the changing of Vcore (CPU voltage), and FSB (Front Side Bus). Now if you decide to open up the laptop and find it to be a 'jumper-free' mb, you can try a program called Soft-FSB, which allows people to change the FSB in windows. Also I would check the BIOS to see if there is any options. About P3's the multiplier is locked, the only thing we can chage is the FSB and voltage.
