View Full Version : What Celeron do you recommend? 600, 633 or 667...cCO of course
Hi! This is my first move on this forum! Look´s really nice =). For the moment I have a Celeron 300A that not work any good in 450...
I have motherboard Abit BH6 bios SS. (latest) ,up to 2,3 V
I would like to OC the celeron to FSB 100 but no more...due to motherboard max at 100. I´ve heard that Celeron 600 rocks at 900.
But I think Celeron 633 is my first choice due to prices in Sweden. Do I have a good chance to play at 950? I´m about to buy the boxed version with fan, but I probably need a stronger fan. Any tips? Not that Noicy...
Thank´s in advance.../Simon
I've got a pair of cC0 600's, one is stable at 945 at 1.9v, the other is a project in the works, right now is stable at 1009 MHz, 2.05v. Still burning. Gonna shoot for the next step up in a few days (115 FSB or 1036 MHz), and if it won't go, back off on the voltage.
Both are running in a slocket, for voltage adjustability (Soltek SL02A++), with a Gorb.
I have one case fan in the front, blowing in, and two on the back, blowing out. Temps are just over room temp for the case, and about 27/28c idle, 37/39 load for the Celeron.
While it varies greatly chip to chip, a Celly 633 should have a real good shot @ 950 (100FSB) If you get a cC0, you have a slightly better shot at more. 105FSB for this chip is 1GHz.
Don't know much on the 667, but I know the higher you go, the harder to o/c them, for some reason. the sweet ones seem to be 566, 600, 633. Check out the database on the front page here, that got me started on the idea of getting a Celeron II.
Good luck.

Get a 633.. hell even th cBo works great ... ok i think i just got lucky @ 105FSb....... 106-107 not thier yet but just you wait...
600-666 is the speed you want. anything more than 666 and your mutiplier is 2 high for 100FSB. If you NEED to hit 100FSB the 533 & 566 are almost a sure thing (just a little hard finding them now)
Hey DJ, I used to have an Abit BH6 and it had several bus speed settings higher than 100. Personally with that motherboard, I'd get the Celeron 600 retail box cC0 and a good slocket adapter. Remove the factory heatsink and fan and replace it with something much better. You should be able to reach 900 no problem. If you get a good 600 chip, you might be able to even reach 1008 using 112MHz bus speed. Since your BH6 board jumps from 103 to 112 with no settings in between, if you use a C-633, then making the jump to 112 is much harder to do.

If you are insisting on cC0, then the 566 is the chip - when you reach it's limit your fsb and memory speed will give some ultimate performance.
too many spoonheads like chips with high multipliers. Low multiplier = greater congruency between memory and processor and therefore better bandwidth.
like I say, .............too .........many.........spoonheads

Remember though that not all BH6s will handle the Cumine chips. Abit officially says they will not, but many people have had good results with it.
With my BH6, I flashed the BIOS with the most recent update available from Abit and used an Abit Slotket...it worked like a charm.

Ok, thanks for your opinions... I think I buy 600 or 633. A little problem seems to be my abit bh6-motherboard, but I´ll try...
I let you know the results when I got the CPU!!
buy the 566, the slower the speed, the higher you can set the fsb! thus giving more performence!
like celeron 566@952- 112 fsb faster then :
celeron - 633@950 - 100 fsb

.............there is no telling some folks - you tell 'em to get a 566 and they go out and buy a 733 thinking that its faster. We'll never win - I'm gonna write an article on it
I see your point, but it is impossible in Sweden to get lower celeron cpu than 633... I´ve tried everything. Internet, phone, newspapers and so on...!! All people with that kind of celerons seems pleased!
So I have to order one 633 cpu and hope for the best. The alternitive is to buy an AMD-system...(god bleesss me! :o))

i would suggest a 600 because they can go just as high as a 667 only they cost less but you need better cooling and as a result your whole system will work faster a 433 running at 550 will most likely be a better system than a 533 running at 600 because of the fsb
