I think a SG-1 based RTSS /* Real time Strategy & shooter*/ game would be great

but even just as a First person shooter I would play it, think of how easy it would be to expand single player missions,

Just add new addresses for download, you could download scenarios left right and center, Build a Tutorial of how to make a Scenario, and offer a tool kit and many programmers would be all over it.

Half life did so well because of the ability to Mod is, other game companies need to see this and make it easy to Mod, BF1942 has Kind of done this.

Little off topic... my bro thought of this. Mario. Give Mario a gun... WHAMMO! That would be so freaking tight. Grap koopa as a shield while you throw a grenade at a group of mushrooms. Too bad it will never happen :(

I think I remember seeing a mod for some game... I forget which game though.

It was a while ago, so maybe Half-Life... Unreal Tournament... Quake 3... Not sure though...

there used to be a half life mod based on stargate. unfortunately it never got very far. i tryed the latest version and it was kinda cool but still really buggy and not much content.

That's what a lot of fans said about Metroid Prime being a 3d shooter and many of the naysayers (Including me) now own and have played or are playing it.

IIRC it was a mod for UT2k3 and it was bunch of French guys that did it. I even saw a video...
Looked nice but with almost nothing to shot at. And you only had that stick form the movie to shot with ( like the alien one in Unreal 2 )

There was a Stargate game for the SNES....it was based off the movie, but it was still pretty good.

This would be a great Idea and we should use the BF1942 engine because it already has vehicle support so we could fly gould ships and things plus it has really good graphics.

that would be sweet. so many varieties of playing fields, including on a mother ship, and playing in jetfighters, and sneaking around like James Bond =). maybe nobody felt they could create such an ideal game to it's full potential =/ [i c it as a mix of Counter-Strike, 007/Splintercell, Freelancer, and 1942]

I'd like to see this, and as it has been stated before, the BF1942 engine is great for modding. The only thing is, you would need to tweak some of the physics for the ships, since they are not based on rotor flight.

What about a game like morrowind where you could choose a race and live as that person. You could go on missions and build up your person. You could walk around and find different portls to send you to diferent places.
