My 1 gig is overheating, I can get no more than 3 minutes run time until system locks up, temperture readings as high as 117 degree Farinhite, how can I cool it down, I have the intel provided heat sink. Can anyone help.

System specs,
P3 1gig FC-PGA 133fsb
256 pc133 ram
Asus Cusl2-c mobo
Asus Geforce 256 DDR

The obvious step would be to get a more efficient heatsink/fan such as an Alpha or Global Win. Case cooling will also make a big difference in cpu temps- a good intake and exhaust fan pair in the case will lower cpu temps several degrees. Try blowing a household fan into the open case side and see if it helps the problem- if it does, then improved cooling is the key.

If there is no improvement, you may need to play with the Vcore settings a little. However this will aggravate the temp problem and improved cooling becomes even more important at that point.

Make sure that the heatsink is sitting flush on the cpu core!I have a 1 gig myself,I use an alpha now, butt the retail heatsink is quite large, and may even be touching a capacitor or sumthin.
