I am interested in watercooling I think it will be cool and worthwhile.

I was wondering how much do you think a decent system will come to?

I spent about 300 total on mine, taxes, shipping, everything. Depends on how you define decent i guess. Things like fans, shrouds, arctic silver, etc really add up

if u want best bang for bucks
you can try the kits at www.aquastealth.com, www.dtekcustoms.com, or www.dangerden.com

cheapest i've seen (good quality that is, none of that crappy ebay stuff) is aquastealth.
slitblock, radiator, maxijet pump, reservoir, and tubing for 136. damn cheap. and with about 14 bucks, you can get hose clamps and misc (coolant, ect) and you'll have a 'better then mediocre' system for about 150 bucks.

With my whitewater, Hydor L30, HC, fans, artic silver, fan controller, CPU shim (yea, I'm scared of killing my proc with that WW), D-tek supercool, tubing, shrouds, etc, mine came to $260.

I agree with Korndog BeCooling/aquastealth (http://www.aquastealth.com/) is about the best entry level kit around right now. The SlitEdge (http://www.overclockers.com/articles873/) block looks like its a pretty good bang for the buck.

It is. Got one for a friend and one for myself.(slitedge block) havent used mine yet, but my friend has, and he is MUCHO satisfied with it.

just waiting for a few parts to come in, then i will start using mine too :)

One thing i didnt like with it is the mounting.
they used threaded rods rather than bolts, and those tend to rotate once you get to tightening the upper nuts, wich results in the rods creeping down, giving u less therads to screw..
Also the springs supplied with the slitedge are crap, IMHO.

So if u do get a slitdege block, you might wanna invest in a mounting kit from dtek or logiccooling. Have used logicoolings kit b4 and found it much better. unfortunately i could get my hands on some and didnt wanna pay like 50 bucks for a couple of bolts and nuts (with shipping to sweden) so i got me a mounting kit from the cheapest palce i could find, wich just happened to be cathars online-shop :D
But if u live in the us, that wont be a problem u will be running into, and in the uk there are dangerden mounting kits to get..

*just a few thoughts*

If you've got $90 you can get an adequate setup going just fine... everyone else here will tell you otherwise but I done it and I get 36c load...

Well the breakdown goes a bit like this:
-Prices slightly inflated to cover shipping charges-

Heater Core: $23 (Chevette Value Series from Napa)
Shroud: $1 (Rubbermaid Tupperware from Target)
Waterblock: $49 (Slit Edge from Becooling)
Pump: $25 (MaxiJet 1000 from Becooling - running Inline)
Fan: $12 (JMC DATECH 100 CFM from Surplus Center)
T Splitter : $3 ( Black T Splitter from Becooling)
Tubing: $7 (10ft 1/2" Masterkleer from Becooling)
Worm Gear Clamps: $5 ( 6pk Worm-Drive Hose Clamps from Becooling)
Distilled Water: $0.98 (from the corner store)
Anti-freeze or other water additives can be found around the house, borrowed or just taken :)

Now i realise this list is way over 90, (actually a little over 125) so you might want to turn to these instead:

I would just get everything from BeCooling. I looked at the site and it looks as if they have sold out of heater cores but if you wait a week I'm sure they will have them in stock again. Not to flame iNSiGMA but other kits are marginal performers at best there is a good reason why they are all on sale.

It looks like BeCooling (http://www.aquastealth.com/) has Black Chevette Heater Cores w/ barbs back in stock. With a shroud its about 9 bucks cheaper than a ProCore Combo
