I recently bought a logitec z560 4.1 system. i quickly noticed that my rear speakers were much quieter than my front speakers. I just want to know if this is normal or not. And i want to know how to fix this issue if possible. By the way im using a sound blaster Live 5.1. thanks in advance

2 Things to check out first my friend. First look on your z560's control pod for a knob called fade, turning this knob up will increase the volume of your rear speakers, I set mine to about 70% and it works quite well. Secondly check in your surround mixer panel of your Live for balance controls and make sure that it is set to the middle or so. Hope that helps.

well i guess what im really asking is , is there a way to increase the rear satalite volume without decrease the from ones. B/c when i use my fader it decreases the front speaker volume. So i guess i will just lower the front speakers and then increase the overall volume. Thanks

I'd recheck your connections then as when I adjust my fader it controls the volume up/down to my rear speakers.

What you do is.... Fade the Rear Speakers until then match the front speaker Volume... use the Fade, and Master Volume to help you...

I think what you are after is not attainable, we must set our surround sounds based on angles and distances. Those z's are more than aloud enough regardless of the having to lower one set or even to lower a single speaker because of its location.

I think if I was you I would really look into the whole setup proceedure, measure the distances and yes the angle too. It will really mnake these EAX games blow your mind

How much did you pay for yours anyway, I originally paid 299 for mine, but when I found summit had them for 209 I went back to future shope to get my refund which they gave me no problem after they called to confirm price and stock

pm me if you paid too much, I will send a link for you

With my M-Audio Revolution 7.1 card and these Z560's speakers, I found that if you use the SRS Circle Surround II feature, (Which is awesome), you can set either Cinema, Music, or Mono. Now.. my computer = my stereo and I love music. Now, the fade is all the way up for me, all the time and M3D is always disabled. On the Music setting, my back speakers would be significantly weaker and they wouldnt put out vocals, just the sound. The problem was that the sound coming out, sounded robotic, it wasnt right. I then switched to Mono. Mono makes all my speakers the same volume, they all put out vocals and great sound. The only negative to using Mono, is that some instruments in songs, depending on how they are recorded, are not heard anymore. But, that isnt enough for me to stop using it, unless I am listening to something that needs those sounds to be heard.
