whats up guys i just made a resevoir from an electrical junction box from home depot, and the barbs r next to each other, it works fine but...the pump is in the way of one barb and it makes a flushing noise when circulated. i can move the barb easily BUT how would i cover the hole from the old spot? what kinda goop would seal it up?

you could put masking tape or duct tape or something on one side, then fill the hole with goop or epoxy or something, and level to off, and leave the tape, itll stay sealed if u take it off, but i would just leave the tape on just in case

If the hole is threaded get a threaded 1/2" (or whatever size the hole is) pvc cap and screw it in.

I'm not positive about 3/8" caps because I've never seen 3/8" pvc parts. You could try gooping a 3/8" rubber plug or cork to the hole also.

That should work. Use the same PVC glue that they use for drain line plumbing. I think it's pink though. I hate pink.

Make sure it just barely slips in or you'll have to use silicone to seal it. In fact, you might put some silicone around inside and outside of the patch job and let it cure for 24hours (according to directions on tube, but 24hrs is what I recall).

I'd do what excess said. Sand off any burrs around the hole, and remove any barbs on that side so you can stand the tank on it's side. Place a piece of celophane tape across the hole and fill it from the inside with JBWeld or one of the quick setting epoxies. Mix the two parts slowly to avoid air bubbles.

It'd never be a problem again, and a coat of paint would make it disappear forever.
