Here's some news for you guys
800eb fbs133
running solid as a rock at 166 fbs and i meen solid, no locking of anykind no hanging at shutdown. just purrrrrrfec.
mb is MSI 815e pro intel chipset
1.70 cv
133 mhz mem 256 (in fact 1 of the 128 sticks is only 100 mhz iam shure, but might be 133)
It has run as this speed from new (3 weeks now)
After reading alot of posts re this one, I might just have got a real good chip
Congratulations ! Sounds like you scored a biggie. Nothing like getting the 1 in a million chip! They're out there but I have never been that lucky.

yeah ive got a p3800eb and she tops out @900.....well i will never know because my mobo (qdi legend advance10) only goes up to 150fsb. well congrats.
Fingers,
Hey way to go.
I found a neat thing in Sandra that you might want to look at. In the Mainboard Information module there is a listing for "Memory Modules".
I will copy what it says about my memory!
Memory Module 1
300E1200 128MB 8x(16Mx8) SDRAM
PC133U-333-542 (CL3 up to 133MHz)
(CL2 up to 100MHz)
Memory Module 2
128MB 16x(8Mx8) SDRAM PC133U-333-522
(CL3 up to 143 MHz)
So I guess when I paid a bit more for the CL2 RAM it was a waste? I guess the only way to know is to pull out one stick at a time and then see if this helps me boot to higher FSB speeds. I doubt it as the memory is either 100 or 133 in this motherboard from what I can tell.
But it is neat to see these ratings explained by Sandra. I think the PC133U-333-522 is a code that means CL3 up to 143 MHz.

I dont seem to have a module 1
but this is module 2
128mb 8x(16mx8)sdram pc 100-322-622
(cl3 upto 100mhz)(cl2 upto 83mhz)
Is what mine reports?. not that it meens much to me, to be honest.
But the mhz seem to be alot higher with your sys?
Is it poss that my mb is holding back the memory to work at is normal mhz?
The plot thickens
Dont eat the yellow snow
I think what your readout means is simply that when your memory was made and labled, it was rated at CL3 up to 100 MHz and CL 2 to only 83MHz. So your idea in the first post that you might have memory rated at 100 MHz is correct.
I wonder why the other module doesn't show up.
Anyway I am sure that Sandra is just reading the numbers off the RAM's "label". This part of Sandra isn't making a measurement or benchmark. This part of Sandra can't determine how fast the memory might work past its rating.
Thats damn good. It take a other stable hardware to run that high. I got my 800eb to 164 but in cas3 IN cas2 160fsb.To me if you can run cas2 it not worth the extra mhz frm my experience. I get better performance in benchmark anyway runing e few mhz lower but in cas 2. Id recomend mushkin rev2 or 3 or Kingmax ram.
also does your Video card run games that high? My tnt2 m64 pukes out much over 150fsb in intense graphics. Im gonna be getting a Elsa Geforce@ gts 32mb that the guy say will handle a 110mhz AGP. I hope so........

Running in cas 2
With a tnt2 ultra 32meg
running the likes of Gp3, Grandprix Legends, Rally Masters, Unreal tourny for sometimes longer than I should for my own sanity, with out trouble.
heres a mem and chip benchmark

why is your memory score so low? what happened. double check your test.. someting is not right.

I've tested the mem many time and its coming back with the same result.
How do you mean " its low " ?
The result is about the same as the 1gig p111 with 256 meg. Is this not what it should be?
You have me a bit lost my friend. Please explain

Id like an explination re Milkpowder's point re my mem, if someone can help.
He has me a bit confused.

If you have managed to get your memory speed to 166mhz FSB, you should reach higher memory bandwidth performance. I am really happy that you got your system that high :P but why is it so low? Is your RAM set at CAS3? At that kind of system speed, people normally reach 470- 500MB/s ALU and 520 - 580MB/s FPU Memory performance. I get about 470 and 525+or - MB/s on the memory set at CAS 322. Try and see if the memory performance will increase a bit by replacing with different RAM or change your CAS setting. bye.. :)

AAAAAAAHhhhhhhhhhh
I see what you mean. I thought I was running in cas 2, I was not.
It has made a small difference ALU 377 FPU 431 but not the gain that yours has.
I think my mem is not to hot 1 stick is only 100 mhz I know for sure.
Thanks for the tip

take out the 100 stick and only leave in the 133 and there should be a big big big difference.
