ok...i noticed that 950+ Mhz seems like the dead end of my 250watt PSU...'coz i have a GeForce DDR and you all know how much power that thing sucks...when i overclock my Pentium III 650E up to 975, 1.75v, i get into windows then dies just stops after some time. when i upped the voltage to 1.8, it didn't even get to windows...so it's like too much power needed but the power supply is weak.

so does a celeron consume less power than a Pentium III at the same speed? i might go for a celeron on my next BX system...so just wondering...

thanks!

Yep - less power than a P3 - less die area to cover due to decreased cache area.

I always find that just past 950Mhz they get finnicky with air cooling anyway. cB0 or cC0 doesn't matter - you get all these spoonheads claiming great stability with them at 1008Mhz - it's tosh - we all know the imperfections of these cores. That is what I think the prob may be ericcson.

Tim follows this path I think - he too will say that the core gives up at 950Mhz

I'm not sure about that C2 vs P3 power consumption thing... but I'll note that I used to use a 250W AT power supply, which I just got rid of...I used to get random lockups/reboots in games and sometimes just in the OS in Win2k, but it's gone away now that I upgraded to a 300W ATX PSU. (My board is a baby-at board with AT & ATX power plugs)
