windows update

i tried installing some windows update things and it downloads them with no probs and then it just sits there saying installing stuff but nothin is happening. anyone know whats going on??

I was having the same problem then the problem changed to hangs at 0%. I tried everything in thier self help guide but nothin worked so i tried automatic update and that works fine??? Try the self help guide, maybe you will have better luck than i had.

If you're running XP, open Windows Explorer or IE and type this into the Address bar...

%windir%\windows update.log

If you're prompted to choose a program to open the .log file with, choose Notepad or Wordpad. Scroll down towards the bottom for the latest entry. Look for an error code associated with the last failed attempt at installing the Windows updates (an error code may or may not be present in the log), now go here...

...and look under the Problem Downloading/Installing a Software (Non-Driver) item' and/or 'Other' heading for the particular error code (if there are any listed in the log), or just try any of the suggested resolution(s). :)

i went to my c drive and there is a folder named WUTEMP and all the updates where in there so i just installed them manually by clicking each update :)
