i have a p3 733 133mhz bus with golden orb cooler, asus cusl2 mobo, pc133 128mb ram. The intel web site says that maximum temp for my cpu is 80C. i overclocked it to 951mhz today. runs great....no probs..... my temp went from an idle, 31C to 35C.....after playing q3 for awhile it didnt go over 49C.......i upped the voltage to 1.85......can someone tell me what temp i shouldnt go over?....im sure running close to 80c isnt too good for it........is upping the voltage ok as long as temp is low?......and what does oc the fsb speed do (make mem, pci and agp hotter?).......thanks........

I would say that 49c is gettin pretty hot!Don't believe that 80c spec you've seen,I never seen a p3 even come close to 80c!

Most people like to see their temps under 40c[full load],or closer to 40c at least!Don't push the voltage any higher until you get some more cooling would be my advice.

hi , You write that you played Q3 for a couple hours and then upped your vcore?? keep your vcore as low as possible without crashing in a game. Like the post above say's your temp is way too HIGH !! Don't believe the specs , your cpu will crash or burn out at that temp . Go for a better heatsink and make sure your case ventilation is ok. sucking air in the front and exhaust at the backtop .
Good luck !
