Well, basically you're in this position...

700MHz processor=good
66MHz FSB=bad

Having a high clocked processor won't mean a thing if it's making the rest of your system run at, what I consider, lower than a normal 100MHz FSB. Using that baseline, all of your devices are running 2/3 as fast as say a Pentium 3 700. On top of that the Celly 2s only have half the on-die L2 cache.

So, in a sense, you are operating at roughly what a low-end Pentium system could give you.

Wery strange. Yes, I agree with the above poster. Itīs not gonna be a "real" P3 at 700Mhz due to the fact that as he says the fsb is low. It should not be sluggish though and go to a 433. Hve you tried overclocking. This will raise your fsb and your overall performance. My Celeron600@900 (100MHz fsb) is going quite nice for the price I paid. Itīs about level with my buddys P3-850.

The cache doesnīt matter that much, not compared to the fsb. Try upping the fsb to 83 (and probably the voltage to) This will put your CPU at about 870MHz. At that speed it should at least perform as a P3-700.

Try tweaking up the voltage along with the FSB speed ... for example, I've an old CeleronII 533A (rated for 1.5v) that is happy at 880 so long as I feed her 1.85v ...

Unfortunately, the fact that you're dealing with such a high core multiplier will probably limit your O/Cing success ...

Good Luck!

Yea, I have a Celeron II 700 @ 877 (83fsb) 1.65v (1.7v default cC0) and it runs perfect. Too bad i don't have the old revision of the ASUS P3V4X, because then i could get to 85 definetly, 90 definetly and maybe 95, 100 is a no go. If i could get to 90/95 i could probably burn it in and get to 1.05ghz. The fsb is really bogging down my ATI RADEON 32MB DDR because when it is o/ced to 200/400 i get 4857 in 3dmark 2k 16bit 1024/768. Only if i was at 100fsb i would be soo happy. My temps are 24C idle/34C load. GOOD LUCK

You should at least be able to set it to 75fsb @ default voltage. Is your chip cC0 or cB0?

Haven't done Sandra or got an updated bios yet ....
But the voltage is the sticking point at the mo ....
what sort of voltage is it safe to go up to ?

Will return with more info ...
Cheers all :)

Well, I consider 1,9V to be safe, but 1,8V should get you to 83Mhz. Iīve heard of people going up to above 2V but that scares me.
