And I got a whole 4mhz more from my ram. The best thing to come of it was that when i reset my waterblock i got like 8mhz more on my core so it's 445 now. Oh well I didn't expect too much, but was hoping for a little more than this. Makes me think that the people who say they got 40mhz more prolly didn't have their card maxed out to begin with. Well at least my card looks cool now :)

Pics man :)
Are those the newer skivved ones? I got the Microcool ramsinks/PLL sinks set a while back, worked great for what I was doing.

I just got the same ones in today. But I have to wait until I get some Arctic Alumina adhesive...should be here by Fri. I'm gonna put these little beauties on my 9800 XT.:D

Biznatch...di you use the thermal adhesive that comes on the bottom of the sinks? If you did, that might be why you aren't getting more out of it. I'm not talkin' the "40mhz" stuff but maybe twice as much as what you have now?

Indeed - you have got to use proper Arctic Alumina Epoxy to get the most out of them; the thermal tape that comes on them isn't particularly great for transferring heat.

You also want to thoroughly clean them with Rubbing Alchohol after removing the thermal tape to get any of the residue glue off, and even give them a 600 grit lapping job (they are really rough under the tape). I figure that a lapping, etc. isn't overkill, as they are being permanently attached to my $400 Video card :p

lol! :D after my TnT2 died, I took it out, and the ram skinks came right off rofl.... I used some epoxy and ASIII, but it didnt take all that much to take it off of the GPU either... could be why it died.. lol... lapping would be a good idea.. if I had the SANDPAPER I would do it too lol.

Yeah, which ones did you get? Tell me how they look - I'm thinking of getting some for my next card.

Actually I have both. I was a dumbass and bought the flower ones first. THEY WILL NOT FIT A 9800PRO!!! The ram on the 9800 is square and the flower sinks are rectangle (made for 9600p and similar cards). So I bought some of the small square ones and they fit perfect.

Are they too big for the RAM? Because too big isn't a bad thing...

I think they might be too skinny.

They are like twice as long as the ram so they hit stuff near the chips (resistors and stuff). So it wouldn't sit on the ram.

You could always whip out a Coping saw and cut em' down to size - copper is surprisingly easy to slice up :)
