I have the MSI KT3 Ultra 2 mobo and the XP2600+ CPU. Is there any reason as to why it registers it as the XP2500+? The multiplier is default at 11.5 and FSB set at 168.5. I have the most recent bios updated. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks...

there are 3 x xp 2600

AXDA2600DKV3C 2600+ 2133MHz 16x

AXDA2600DKV3D 2600+ 2083MHz 12.5x

AXDA2600DKV4D 2600+ 1917MHz 11.5x

try with multiplier at auto and fsb 100 this will tell what one you have

well thats the newer barton one so may be the board needs a bios update for it to be seen right

it will still work fine though

i guess xp 2500 barton is closest it knows

it is the 333mhz cpu (AXDA2600DKV4D) I updated the latest bios before...unless there is a problem with the bios itself. I will try again. To the one who said it only supports a xp2200+.....with a bios update it is suppose to support up to the xp3000+. Will let ya'z know if it will register as the 2600+. Thanks

yes, i have updated the bios...still see's it as the 2500+. Some had mentioned that it may be hard locked....whatever that means.

newer bartons etc are multiplier locked

but so long as it boot on auto at right multiplier and mhz dont worry about it

my guess is xp 2600 version you have came out after last bios
