I have Asus P2B 440BX mobo and PIII 600 (512K cache) CPU with Micron 128 MB PC100 SDRAM. I am running MBProbe with regular CPU temp at about 106 degrees and mobo at about 85 degrees. Is it worth OC this system or what? Does anyone else have this same mobo/CPU and what did you do? What about extra cooling. I should mention that I am not using any thermal paste either... Any help appreciated.

I strongly suggest that you apply some thermal grease RIGHT AWAY! It can seriously damage your CPU in the long run, if you don't do that! :(

And to the real Q:
Of course it's worth overclocking the system! :) Try upping the FSB, and see if it still boots, and if Windows is still stable. You might want to consider getting some better cooling for the CPU though, and your RAM could also turn out the be unable to handle speeds higher than 100MHz.

Is your computer still on??? Oh dear... :-)

I dunno if you can get some thermal paste at Radio Shack, because I live in Europe! But it's worth a shot, right? Almost any silicone grease will do, but getting the expensive Arctic Silver is the best...
