View Full Version : Asetek Waterchill Kit fittings
Hello,
Been a long while but we just bought a home so the comp pursuits have been put on hold until now. I was surfing the net and noticed the Asetek kit. Looks nice. I wanted to probe the guru's brains though and ask what kind of fittings Asetek is using on it's components? I have seen these around the net before but I don't believe those are John Guest fittings. Correct me if I am wrong however. Thanks in advance.
Well it seems that those fittings are Festo fittings indeed. Festo is a international company produces products for robotics and automation. Seems that those fittings are originally designed for air and gases. I do wonder over time if the components will degrade due to the other additives needed to prevent the bacterial build up in the WC systems but seems that the parts of those push fittings are very similar to those in fittings used in food and beverage industries as well. Correct me if I am wrong however.
For the Hydor L20 and L30 pumps, does anyone out there know for sure what size pipe fitting and thread the tube connector is? I am looking to see if I can switch the standard tube connector with the Festo fittings that the Asetek folks have done. I just need the measurements for the pipe (I am thinking it may be 1/2" as well but not sure) and thread. Hydor pumps seem to come from an italian company so I am guessing that the thread would be BSPT like Innovatek (German) but that is why I am here asking the questions.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure about the Hydor pump connectors, but from what I have seen, all the components included with the Asetek Waterchill Kit come with the same connectors (shown in blue in the following website link). LINK (http://www.frozencpu.com/images/products/detail_hires/ex-wat-19.jpg)
