Yea, it does look pretty sweet! I think it will do very well at the right price point. Sony obviously won't launch it @ $99 like the GBA SP. It could be able to compete w/ Nintendo @ the right price though... Maybe Sony has learned from the N-Gage & Tapwave's mistakes.

I'd really like to know what its going to have. Sony has said it will have so many features, I really don't see how they will do it for a decen't price. I'd rather they drop some of the fluff and keep the price down around $200. Oh yeah, and keep the size down.

the rumors and info at the moment point to a rtail of 299 but its also rumored the final will have a built in cell phone...

I take it sony won't listen to the feedback on the ngage...
general rule:
people either want a game system, or a cell phone, not both
even if they come out at 199, I won't touch it, I'd rather just buy a handfull of games for my gba

it should be 150 max to compete with GBA, for 200 usd i would rather buy a new gfx or somin.

im not sure how well it will do since for 300 or even 200 dollars you could buy a new console. Plus with CD games that will be more advanced then the GBAs the games will probably be 50 a piece and the cell phone component will likely double the size of the concept...

Hey, what was wrong with game gear? I loved that oversized handheld.

I agree... In order to successfully compete w/ GBA the PSP should:
-retail for < $150
-NOT have cell phone functionality
-have a decent set of launch games retailing ~$30
-not be the size of my GameCube
Not a very long list, but if Sony can't offer up any of these features, then they too will get buried by Nintendo in the handheald market. It looks promising... but it's almost sounding like it want's to be another N-Gage.
Sorry heres a link that talks a bit about it.
