Try putting a little more voltage to it. If that doesn't work then you may be heating up a bit too much.

Lot's of times it's a device complaining about a high bus speed but I would try more voltage to start out with. Just make sure you have enough cooling if you're going to go high.

i set my cpu back to normal 550 mhz. Now i have a new problem, it boot alright. but then about 20 min. the whole system shut down. I cant even start it back up. I have to unplug the core and plug it back again. why it does this. the temperature is fine 50 C. U think the cpu cooler got any thing do with that. My com case deliver on 250w max.

50c is pretty hot! I've seen the coppermines become unstable at those temps. The error you were having sounds like the hard drive may be having a problem from the overclocking. What cooling do you have? What FSB were you running that caused the problem? What hard drive are you using?

Protection error usually arises not necessarily from VccCore voltage at all. This is a memory problem. Try using a higher I/O voltage or better memory.

Too many people are just suggesting upvolts I think when it is not always the problem.

did you know that the power draw of an overclocked GeForce is enough to knock a lot of o/c systems over. There are so many variables.

The 50°c you have is most probably a freaky measurment from the ubiquitus internal die probe. If a coppermine CPU were at 50°c it would surely go into hysterisis.
