I recently upgraded (i think) from a P2 sl2w8 300 @ 450 to a Celeron 633 that I got stable on this motherboard at 950mhz (100mhz FSB). By the way 2.0 volts, a golden orb fan and really good case cooling.

First question is
1) What exactly does the temperature sensor in the Bios measure and how accurate is that a reflection of the CPU temp?

2nd
2) Whenever I've tried to enable the Turbo frequency in BIOS all I've ever gotten is the same speeds (at least according to POST). This is on both of the above processors. Is there something I don't know or that I am doing wrong.

Thanks

I had a BH6 last year and if I remember correctly, the temp sensor is a motherboard thermister, so it won't give you CPU temp, but will tell you the system temp. inside the case. My BH6 never showed an increase on post for the 103 turbo mode either, but WinTune (I didn't have Sandra back then) showed that my Celly 300a was running at 464 in turbo mode (which was as high as I could go).

CPU Z will give you the real speed.

Here is where to find it:

Dart, I just reread your post, wow, 2.0 volts is a little high for only using a Golden Orb. When I had my Gorb, it'll start running a little too warm even at 1.8 volts. Even with an Alpha or a GlobalWin, I personally don't like running a Celly II CPU over 1.9v, no margin for error. Maybe you'll be able to lower the voltage once it burns in. Make sure you use a good quality thermal paste too.
