OK heres an odd one. I just got a new DELL with a 1.3 P4, I run RC5 24/7 my stats are 1.58Kkeys/s
my wifes 566 Celery does 1.58 also. My last PC had a 750 Athlon running at 940 and it did 3.28.
I have tried shutting down all the extra crap the factories load in, with no improvement.
Any Ideas?

Looks like you've discovered the main shortcoming of the P4. The FPU (floating processor) used for math calculations is very basic in the P4 and has shown to be inferior to the one used in the PIII and earlier chips. That's why the T-Birds are beating the P4s so badly at so many benchmarks. Intel claims that some extra instructions they have added will make up for it once the software writers start to utilize them. Of course this doesn't help for current software...
