I really don't know what the problem could be, and it just started today. My Audigy 2 and Winamp 5, something is causing my audio to skip, but only when I type, so it's not a speaker or amplifier issue etc. I thought, even though I'm using a seperate audio card, it could be the southbridge overheating, but my ambient temps are at 9celsius, and it's STILL doing it, what gives? :(
It's Winamp 5...
It's happening to everyone when they play songs in the newest Winamp.

USB keyboard?
I'm using an ancient IBM monster keyboard, the kind that weigh a bagillion pounds. So no, not USB.
It's an issue with Winamp 5.

Ive got one sitting in my room with my first model IBM PC :)
Anyways...I've got no problems when typing with Winamp 5 playing music, wether its PS/2 or USB

I get that with my nforce2 motherboard using winamp 2.x with sound coming out from a staudio dsp24 soundcard.
Hmph, I'm starting to think it might be a problem that is with Soundstorm then, or perhaps it's drivers more likely.
I've tried a couple alternative audio drivers and the newest versions and still no fix though. No biggie however, I'm using Foobar now.

Its a problem with onboard sound in general
It only happens to me when I'm using Winamp 5 though.
Yeah I had the problem too. So I said screw WA5 and went back to 2.91 ;)

How large are your buffer's? I have a 2000ms buffer and a 500ms prebuffer. My sound doesn't skip at all when typing. I use WA5 and a Soundblaster Live! MP3+ soundcard.
