I've overclocked my P-III 750 to 938 but it idles at 49C and goes to 52.5C on while under load. Everything is stable and works fine although the temp increase is noticible. I've run it at this speed and temp for over 6 hours and not had any probs. but wanted some input.

YES

some people say no, but they tend to live in places were the ambient temp is i the 30's.....
well i dont like the CPU to leave the 30's under full load. You should realy try to stay under 40 with mid 30's as you main target area under full load. Got seti going right now, MP3's and 1 browser window and my NAT program with 1 user connected and my temp is 36C....
And still others will say my temps are to high. So the correct answer is if their is ANY way you can get a lower temp, yes that higher temp is to high

One more note.. you got the standard heatsink/fan combo going.. you are lucky to hit that speed in the first place.....

but do drop a few bucks and grab a 1/2 decent cooler and your CPU will thank you for it. Lots of post on what to buy and what not to buy so just read a few and you should know what to buy/expect in no time

Thanks, I've stepped it back down for now. Although, even my normal temps aren't in the range you mentioned. My normal avg temp is 37.5C idle to 40C load.

I've already ordered a 2nd case fan and am looking into either Alpha Pal-6035 or the Global Win FKP32. I'm not decided on which, the reviews seem to be a toss up and the price is fairly close, at the sites I've been to. I'm open to any input.

Are you using a software cooler?? You should try one.
