how cpu intensive IS seti@home anyways? i am using it to see how much my new celly633 will heat up..so far only 38.5 @900 and idle at 26C with ambient room of 28c
and one more question.....even if my cpu were running say 45c or even 50c...is that really considered "hot" i mean in farenheight its only like 120-130 and you can even touch that hot.

Many coppermine cpus start to get erratic around 45-50c when overclocked.

Seti varies it's activities depending on what you are doing at the same time- they try to stay out of the way so they don't slow your other things down. On an idle machine it is usually above 90% sometimes 99%

On my dual cpu boxes running 2 Seti's I usually have 49% for each Seti- the other couple percent is used by the system for processes in the background.

Is there a program that tells you how much percent the cpu is being used?????

I am using W2000, so I read it from the Task Manager. Programs like Rain that are used to cool cpus also show the percent of cpu usage. I can't think of many others at the moment. I haven't used W98 for quite a while, but I don't remember it having the ability to display it either- maybe someone else can fill us in.

HI, if your using windows98 you can go to system tools and use the hardware monitior to get a look at your cpu useage. Get there by clicking: start-programs-accessories-system tools-system monitior-edit- add item.
