Would like to know some things on O/C. Is the main part of O/cing just adjusting the jumpers for FSB and multiplier, plus a cooling system, or does it go deeper than that. Plus i would like to know what to buy to get the best O/Cing on, AMD - Athlon, Duron, TBird or Pentium - P3, Celeron. And also the best type of Board to clock for each.

Well you pretty much got the basics of it, there are other bios tweeks that are usualy learned by experience....but you came to the right place to find all the little things to help you on your way to speed nirvana...asking for a recomendation for a mobo/cpu is almost surely asking for an argument...if you want pure speed, there is no other than the P4 1.5...Me personaly, I'm waiting for Abit or Asus to come out with a P4 board, prefferably Abit.....I hear the 1.4g P4 will clock up to 1.8g without breaking a sweat, but I would still wait for the new stepping, for PIII, or P4 as they will reduce to .13micron process and will no doubt have better/higher yeilds.
I would look at magazines like Maximumpc, and check their website for reviews on the equipment you are interested in, before making a choice, and look at the posts, both in here, and the Amd side (of the forum), to see if what you are interested in has been having problems, that way you will be better armed when making that all important purchase desision.
It all depends on what your needs are, and what your budget can stand. Good luck
Doc's righto about one thing..everone will argue whats best. I encourage you to first undertand the basics of how your motherboard operates..and also the relationship your CPU has with the motherboard as well. This is the first step to understanding "overclocking". You can find all that info just by searching on the internet. Once you understand the dynamics of FSB settings, multiplier, core voltages, ram speeds, AGP speeds, PCI speeds etc etc..then do research on what motherboard chipset work best with what processor...and while your doing all this figure out a budget plan and how much your gonna be spending on your new overclocker system. Me personally I will always choose celeron II cuz of cheaper price and good performance(note cheaper price here!) MUCH cheaper MUUUUUCH cheaper than a pentium4 . Athlon is good too..but us Intel fans know what the dark meat is all about! ;) but seriously just keep looking here and there and do "research" on your own. TRSUT me when i say..you may get very confused at what we talk about on here..but it will all "click" soon enough and youll understand. I can say www.overclockers.com and look at the cpu database...look at other peoples overclocked combinations(CPU&MOBO) and youll get an idea of what works good with what...and KEEP ASKIN QUESTIONS! we are friendly in here! :)
