I was thinking about moving onto watercooling because the noise generated by my fans is driving me insane. After looking around the forums i've descovered TEC cooling :D and being torn between the two i began to wonder if one could combine WC and TEC.

I mean is it possible? Take a water block CPU/GPU and slap a TEC on the (bottom) face of the block? Because I wanted to have my GPU and CPU to be TEC cooled. Or would i need a WB specificaly made for TEC cooling?

Basically what im asking is what would it require to add a TEC to watercooling setup if at all possible.?

~ any help would be great :D

While it is possible to mod your own TEC into a block, it is much easier to buy a block with a TEC built in. Several companies (Dangerden, Switftech, and others) offer excellent TEC blocks.

Yeah, I looked into DD Maze 4 GPU block and it looked like it would do the trick.

Another thing I was wondering is what kind of performace (temp degree wise) would i get out of the TECs if I had a 226 watt on CPU and 80 on GPU and they both were int he same series?

I would only put both of those in series if you have a serious watercooling system, one with a powerful pump (300GPH+) and a big radiator with at least 2 120mm fans, or 4. (like a BIX 2)

Well, I have a mini fridge that I was planning on cutting holes in and shoving the radiator in. :D WOuld that do the trick?

Got any suggestions for a radiator for $100-130?

The mini fridge will not keep up with the TEC + CPU!
CPU yes but not the TEC.

How about just a waterblock (maze 4)on the CPU but a 80watt pelt on the MAZE4 GPU without the fridge just a straight up heater core/rad and 2 120mm fans?

Or would the TEC put much heat into the water thus when the water circles aroud to the CPU, it would be too hot to do any good?

Was you going to use mini fridge just for computer or auther stuff to.
There are menney pepple using the guts from minny to make a water chiller.

I was gonna buy a lil mini just for the comp.

The little tiny fridges are usually cooled by pelts themselves, and can no way keep up with a modern cpu's heat output. Make sure any fridge you use has a real compressor!

As far as pelting stuff:
I still haven't gone that route myself yet, but I have looked into it once or twice...;)
I have seen or heard of NO water blocks that perform as well a Swiftech's when used with peltiers.

I would check their stuff out at least, before buying anything.

The larger mini fridges use compressors iam not talking about the cooler ones. The standup ones use compressors. But first check it out.

Anyone know where i would be able to find a guide/tips on building a watercooler/chiller using a minifridge/standard fridge compressor?

this will mostlikely have what you need http://www.phase-change.com

tec's are cool, just have to make sure the water cooling can keep up though

i personally i would tec the cpu first, just a normal water block on the gpu will do.
at the moment i am getting the same performance out of my 226w tec as i did when using a 130w tec. i am in the middle of making a second radiator and are going to run in parrallel.
once i get the water cooler i will be able to run higher vcores. at the moment i am better off with normal maze4 for max oc
once i have the cooling side of the water i hope to get to 2.7GHZ
at the moment im at 2.5ghz

for a tec yes for the chiller no better WW

With a TEC you are trying to cool an area about 50mm * 50mm !
With a CPU you are trying to cool an area about 10mm * 10mm !
As you can see a TEC needs larger more even heat removel .
with cpu the need is the core that is why you direct shot onto it like WW.
