K, I am purchasing a new computer, and lets say that an AMD Athlon 900 and a PIII 900 were the EXACT same price, which one would be faster?

e.g Would a PIII boot quicker then an Athlon, or would an Athlon open programs/apps quicker than a PIII?

boot speed comes down to the motherboard and hardrive but they are about the same with similar spec drives and boards, the athlon is techinally quicker than the p3 but the p3 has more apps and game otpimised for it so they run at about the same speed which shows how much better the athlon is if it can run p3 optimised stuff at the same speed, also the athlon is cheaper so theres no point pretending it aint and will overclock a lot more.
