View Full Version : [SOLVED] Motherboard fsb-speed???
With my Abit BH6 I can choise to run at 133. But the pci then will be to high. (1/1. 1/2 or 1/3) Canīt pick 1/4...
The AGP leaves me with these alternitives: 1/1 or 2/3. Canīt pick 1/2...
If I use the 133 fsb, will there be any problems with HD, Videocards and so on due to the extraspeed? Is there anything I can do? I have the latest bios avaible!!
Thankīs /Simon

Hi Simon
I'm sorry, but you need to tell us about your system... harddrive, CPU, video card, RAM, NIC etc.
Some hardware can handle the high FSB's, but some sure can't, so you need to be more specific, ok?
Have you flashed your bios to the latest version as that board should support a 1/4 pci, no bx board supporst a 1/2 agp but most newer cards are ok at 89mhz especially nvidia ones.
Yes, Phil is right. Most video cards will run at higher AGP bus speeds. Even going back to the V3 2000's and up for 3dfx cards.
When I had my PIII 600E on a BE6-II. I was running a fsb of 137mhz. Thats a AGP bus speed of 91mhz. It ran 100% stable. That was with my V3 2000, V3 3500, as well as my V5 5500.
Have fun and good luck to ya!
Thank you guys!
I have this Videocard: Hercules Prophet Dual View 32 mb. (Geforce mx2) Hope and think it can handle the higher AGP!
My motherboard Abit BH6 canīt split the PCI in 4. 1/3 is the best it can do. I use the latest bios (SS). Have IBM 46 gb HD and think it will be OK!
I used to run my PCI bus at around 42Mhz on a Abit BX133 Raid and had no problems with it. But I have since changed my divider to 1/4 to bring it nearer the 33Mhz spec. Everyone I have asked about this, using the high bus speed, has told me I risk having data corruption on my drives. Running high PCI bus speeds stress your system components and so I dont recommend it unless you have to.
Higher end GeForce cards run past 100Mhz AGP.
