hey i got a new raptor... and im wondering ho wi get this thing to run in windows.... like i mean i want my windows on it...
i got a abit nf7-s now... which isnt in my sig yet... and i got it to read in the sata boot thing... but i went to run windows boot disc and it just reads my ide drives..... how do i get a fresh install on my sata drive?

When windows setup is starting, it will give you the option to press F6 and load 3rd party drivers. You need to do this and insert the disk from Abit so Windows can read the drive.

Also Make sure the scsi/sata device has a higher priority than ide in the BIOS boot menu.

i got the disk... and its like f4 for the menu or something or control and s.... but i cant do teh drivers there.... do i hit f6 while booting? well i will try anyways... but help me out a little more :-\

F4 is for the SATA BIOS. Ignore that unless you are using RAID. It has nothing to do with Windows.
When you boot off of your Windows XP CD, start the setup as normal. Read the bottom status bar. It will tell you important information. When it says push F6, do it. Hold it for a few seconds to make sure. After Windows Setup loads the basic things, it asks you to put the driver disk in. Then, it reads the disk, and lets you pick the driver for SATA.
I guess you could install Windows on a IDE drive, too. Then install the SATA driver while in Windows, and install Windows again on that drive. This will have the problem of the MBR being on the IDE drive, though.
