Help!

Right, I got sent this chip through my magasine job - so it may have come directly from intel (and may also be one of those unlocked ones, Idunno yet)

But it looks strange! The last chip I had was a cB0 600, and I'm sure it was just matt green yeah? And on the bottom, half the resistors where there with the s-spec clearly stated on the top.

This chip instead of being matt green (I may just have forgot the last one looked like this) you can see the circuitry on the green. Ando n the bottom there are a total of 12 resitors (all of them) connected. and the base has dots on the green instead of plain green.

It says this on it:

Celeron TM MALAY
RB80526RX667128
Q011A237-0527-QT03ES

What is it? I will test it out today see if it's locked or not.

Why not look it up in the CPU Database? It's one click away from OCers.com's front page. Intel processors definitely can look different. My first P3E was made in Malaya and had sharp high quality printing on the black label. The second is made in the Philippines. The printing on its black label looks like crap. I don't think it's very likely that your CII isn't Multiplier locked. If it says "Intel Secret" or is ID'd as a sample, it could be unlocked. Please keep us abreast.

Knowing you, I bet you have already considered throwing it on the bonfire along with that mobo of yours, just to see if it really can burn! lol

well we'll see when I stick it in a mobo I suppose.

at the momment I'm fiddling with the KM133 chipset. I *think* the board is pre-release, I can;'t be certain. But it's real wierd! And I like it!

anyone heard about it all?>

My now burned up Celeron 733 looked the same way. So I do not think you have a special chip.

The number ending in ES means it is indeed an Engineering Sample. Usually they are multiplier unlocked too... Fire that bad boy up and see what it will do!!

I KNEW IT!!! It made no sence it not having an S-spec.... mmmmmmmm. no lock.. mmmmmmm. I think I shall be cranking my FSB as HIGH AS POSSIBLE!!!

YEAH- with a little fine tweaking on the multiplier as well! You ought to be able to find the combination that will max out the core and give good FSB performance as well.

Too bad it's not a PIII!

:((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

unhappy spodey. The multiplier IS locked. Dammit.

out of 3 s370 boards I had, only 1 had multiplier adjustment!!!! And unfrotneltu that one didn't have voltage adjustment, so I didn't fiddle much with speed. But it posted all the way up to 105x10 fine.

Just have to wait until I give it another go.,
