i tried to install a stick of PC133 128MB in my girlfriends computer today, if it was the only stick in there the computer would freeze at 32MB (in the post), if the 64 meg stick was with it (in the first slot) the computer would test fine untill 150 something, then the computer woudl freak out and i'd get dancing colors and whatnot. i assume its a bad stick of ram, but the origonal package it shipped in (came in first class mail, USPS) was eaten by the dog she has. (stupid dog!) so, i have another system i could test it in, they are both designed for pc100 (i wasnt aware of this untill i finally managed to get into the compaq's bios, it has a K6-2, like me, on a 100FSB. the manual reccomends PC133 for some reason.)
should i bother testing it in the other system? (this other system is my main at the momnent and if it were to stop working i'd be in doo doo) or should i try to send it back? i taped the package back otgether the best i could, but its pretty sorry. coudl i jsut pick up another envelope, and send it back that way?

i've never done an RMA before, this is the first time i've ordered stuff online. ..i got it from PC Wonder INC.

I would test it in another system first. As for why they reccomend pc133 in a 100MHz system I have no clue...could be something w/access speeds (If they have one and if the FSB does not influence that..)?

As for how to send it back, put it in a padded envelope...bubble wrap it maybe (padded envelopes do a good job imo) and mail it back to em. There may be some other protocol for RMA's. They may require you to write something on the package or send a form. According to this page (http://www.pcwonderinc.com/warrantyreturn.html) they have all the info necesary for you to RMA the package. Just follow the steps on their website and ship it off!

Good luck w/the RAM and RMA :)
