I'm trying to get 933mhz stable....at 2.0 volts I noticed a little more stability, and I'm thinking 2.05 can get me where I want to be in stability. Right now I'm using a Chrome Orb. What do you guys think?

By the way, It's a P3700 cBO. Abit Slocket III if that helps any.

I think you're attacking the symptoms, and ignoring the disease.

I wouldn't feel too comfortable at that high of Vcore without the best cooling there is, and an orb isn't in that league. Odds are that your stability problem would go away at much lower Vcore with an Alpha or similar in place of the orb.

I wouldn't advise going over 1.9v and never go over 2v unless you are using a peltier. My advise would be to drop it to default speed with 1.95v and use seti and prime95 for a week and then set it to 933 at default voltage and move it up until it's stable, hopefully this should ony require about 1.8-1.9v

Phil, that sounds crazy. Could that "Overburn" it???

Burning it in for a while at 700 MHz/1.95v sounds a lot less crazy to me than running it at 933 MHz/2.05v. Personally, I'd limit long term usage to 1.9v or less if you're air cooling it and I'm not sure I'd go even that high with just an Orb. I thought the Chrome Orbs were made for AMDs? What are your CPU temps?

I dont know my temps cause my mobo is aa piece of sheeit. Its a trinity 400. A chrome orb might be for AMD but it fits just fine on Intel too. its just BS they say.

Yeah, my GlobalWin FOP can be used on both AMD and Intel flip chips, so the Orbs probably can too. Still, when I was using a Golden Orb, even with it lapped mirror smooth and using Arctic Silver thermal paste, the temps were borderline at 1.8v. Heat really does effect stability and high voltages create lots of heat.

not if you only do it for a week, burn in's work better with lower temps and higher voltages, and that chrome orb is crap, some people get lucky with them but seeing as you are having problems I would say that was part of it.
