Please, what are yours temperatures @idle & full load?
and you've a fan blow in the case?
What CPU core voltage are you using? Sounds like the classic case of needing more cooling and a little more voltage.

This may sound kind of silly but...if you have large case fans on your case, have you tried closing the case and letting them work? Fans move the air that has the least resistance to being moved. This means the air closest to the fans and may mean that the air around the CPU is stagnant. Moving the air THROUGH the case instead of recirculating the hot air around the fan might work better. Give it a try.

i have abit bx6 and 1.70 voltage and NO my case is new and has little air holes all over
i have 1 case fan next to cpu sucking air out
and 1 case fan sucking in air from front
and 1 really strong power supply fan sucking heats from cpu
and 1 gorb and 6600rpm fan on top plus 2 HUGE case fan blowing all 5 of my pci and agp slots
but when i try 856 i can get running but when i restart i get too many errors in windows
OK, sounds like you've got lots of air moving. If that CPU is a cC0 stepping like you said, you're only running it at default voltage, Bump it up to 1.8v and see if that don't help the stability. Good luck, sounds like you're really close.
