I need some assistance with a couple programs I am attempting to install on win2k and XP. These are legacy programs.

Here seems to lie the problem:
While I am logged in as a administrator or as a user with admin rights it allows me to install and run these programs but, when I log in as a standard user they do not show up. If I manually place a shortcut to them they will not run properly.

So I need two answers:
1). How do I install these so that all users will see them in the programs menu?
2). How can I get them to be able to run the software? I'm hoping I don't have to give them total admin rights to the computer....

Thank you in advance for any help!

telling us what you are trying to install will help. without knowing that there is nothing we can really do to help.

most of these are kids games.
Here is what happens: I'm logged in under my user name which has admin rights. It installs fine, places the program in the Start:All Programs under it's own folder. I am able to run the program just fine, while I'm logged on as me. But when I log out and login as one of my kids who have standard user rights the programs do not appear in the Start:All Programs. If I make a shortcut to the programs file on the desktop it will not run properly while logged in as them.

Try giving the 'Users' group (which they should be members of) full rights the game folder/s and all subfolders. Maybe running the games in compatability mode may help too.
