Dual PIII Question...

K, I am thinking of getting dual PIII 800Mhz's, I heard from someone that it would give me the same speed of just a single PIII 800Mhz, is that true, or would it give me a performance of 1600MHz?

It will give you 5-10% faster than a single for the most part. With the right software, up to 50% faster. Unfortunately most (99%) software doesn't utilize the second processor. The operating system does, but it merely performs housekeeping for the most part. Duals do multitask better though- you can run more things in the background without as much impact. Being able to burn a CD and still do other things is a big plus.

You will have to run 2000 or NT to use the 2nd cpu at all.
