Pentium 4 slower?

OK heres an odd one. I just got a new DELL with a 1.3 P4, I run RC5 24/7 my stats are 1.58Kkeys/s
my wifes 566 Celery does 1.58 also. My last PC had a 750 Athlon running at 940 and it did 3.28.
I have tried shutting down all the extra crap the factories load in, with no improvement.
Any Ideas?

I read in two different mags that there were similar benchmarks done on AMD, p3 and p4. Similar results showed p4 slower in 5 of 6 applications selected. It was stated that there were no applications 'optimized ' for p4 instruction sets. That also includes benchmark apps.

Like we haven't heard that one before.

The P4, in my view isa waste of money. Just wait 'till AMD bring out the palamino core............
