Abit be6IIv2, PC150 128MB RAM, Blaster RIVA TNT2 32MB AGP, 3 other PCI devices, Nic, SoundBlaster Live Value, PCTV capture card(always left in disable in this hardware profile setting).
Can get the 850 to 1020Mhz stable with FSB=120, voltage 1.9. Lower voltage or higher FSB crashes some programs like a CD burn. Can get an unstable 122-124 FSB.
Thought the problem might be voltage limitation of 1.9 on BE6-II v2, but databases show others getting to 1130Mhz with
1.7-1.95 voltages.
How do I get higher voltage on this board to see if I can go faster, and do I want to. Is this 1.9 a sign the chip is maxed? Is 1130Mhz lucky with an 850?
If you have a 850 running above 1 gig, then congrats! You never mention temps or cooling. If you're using air cooling, you might be close to max. A lot of those really high clock speed numbers in the CPU database are because they're using peltier and/or water cooling.

This is an i440BX chip, right? Since you are over 100MHz FSB, you might be having stability problems caused by either the PCI or AGP bus. Check your divisor in BIOS and make sure that the busses are close to spec. Also, are you adjusting the voltage with the dipswitches or the softBIOS? Go back and RTFM and see if you have more settings available using the dipswitches. In any case WTG! 1020 is nothing to be unhappy about.

I think you should be happy with what you have, if your 850 is 100mhz then from what I've read here in prior posts, that seems to be exception not the norm. The 800's and 850's generally don't have great o/c'ing ability to get even 1ghz. Enjoy.

i also have a p-3 850 running @1020 1.8v i use an alfa 3125 with 2 60mm deltas... it ran 995 with standard h/s and fan. if i remove the NIC card it will run stable@1037. so without spending a small fortune for liquid nitrogen and superduper peltiers etc. you doin ok

Thanks everyone. That's what I needed to know. I made it to 1037 this AM, seems stable. This was changing the queue depth from 8 to 1. Yea, I know 1020 Is nothing to cry about, but I had higher expectations of it cuz I had my 500 doin 620 rock solid and only thing stopping me was PC100 mem. I just did this upgrade so did the chip and memory at the same time. I thought I'd be going directly for 133x8.5 right away, (to start). Was a little sad. As for cooling, air, an Alpha. Havent had the time yet to track temp changes at various speeds to see if that could be the culprit. Might not be worth spending on better cooling vs faster chip someday.
Overall happy.. Just trying to crank out the biggest bang for the buck..
