ATI and 3-d modeling

Howdy,
I do a fair amount of 3D modeling and had heard that the ATI isn't so hot in that arena. I'm also looking at looking halo and rainbow6 3. so with all this considered, between a 9800p/np or a 5900, what would work better for those.

the 9800 should be better in DX9 games... but as for 3d modeling performance, i'm not sure which one will be better. It could be possible you could drivermod the 9800 to one of those high-end ATI modeling cards. Although it won't be as good as the actual card itself, i will improve performance over the normal 9800 drivers.
