I have found the jumpers on my motherboard and on the 370sp my cpu is mounted which I believe controls the voltage, but neither have any effect when changed.

Now I have found a jumper that controls mhz, from 66 - 100 which will move my 366 to a 550 but the machine becomes unstable... should I even be playing with this or just the voltage?

Welcome to the forum. There are some very informative guides to overclocking on the main page. The way to speed up (overclock) your CPU is by adjusting the FSB (front-side bus) speed. The guides will tell you how to identify your board and give you the basic steps to understand and do.

Good luck.
