My best friend and I both bought SB Audigy platinums about a year ago. They worked great...initially.
Then it started, snap crackle pop, whether listening to cd, mp3, dvd, im (mic), or nothing at all!! Unfortunately we didn't have another sc to try and we both had are computers in the same room (impossible to tell who's card it was).
I moved and then we both had the same problem...seperately.
I recently bought a DFI LanParty nForce II and tried the onboard sound... First off the quality KICKS the audigies ***, second gone are the days off crackle every 15 seconds or so. I mean NO crackle...at all.
I've used three different drivers on both are Audigies to no avail, also he has a an A7M266D and originally I was using A7S333 and know the LanParty and all had the same problem with the Audigy.
Both our cards are out of warranty (I believe) so that's not an option. Is there anyone that has expierenced this and found a fix??
I looking to throw the old system back together and use the Audigy again however I'll use onboard sound before crackle anyday.
Thanx for any input
