Technical Question

I have the Audigy 2 OEM version, and I am wondering would I gain any sound quality when recording, if I bought a sound capture card? Most of the time, I am recording from minidisk, or mixer.

Specs: 24-bit Analog to Digital conversion during recording in 8, 16 or 24-bit at sampling rates of 8, 11.025, 16, 22.05, 24, 32, 44.1, 48 and 96kHz

Those specs for the sound capture card or the audigy? The specs look right on for good capturing (but 16 bit will suffice for most everything). Higher res stuff like 24 bit is great for studio work, and mostly for post-production reasons I've yet to even explore (as I'm still lumbering with 16 bit recording myself). Aparently 24bit is good for applying effects and manipulating the wave file information... how exactly this is true I haven't a clue...

Yeah, those specs are for the Audigy 2. I guess I'm fine off. The 24 bit may come in handy when I burn movies on DVD, so the I can retain high quality sound.
