argh ea

i cannot get the patch to install at all. This is just stupid the way ea is doin this. Can anyone help on how to install this patch so i can play online. Thanks

For what game? EA games suck with the automatic patch installs. I usually just d/l them separately and apply it then.

wow i was so upset i forgot to say what game. lol
this is need for speed underground.
i wish i could just dl them and install myself, but as far as i know you have to use the auto install thing.

Yeah I kinda have the same problem for most of EA games. Couldn't get Simcity4 auto-updater working so I just got the patch from the web. Same for C&C:Generals. That's the only solution I've found for them. I dunno how you can make it work though through the auto-updater. :(

yeah but you cannot get the patch for nfsu without the autoupdater. that is the only way it is available as far as i know. If i am wrong please correct me and give me a link on where i can get the patch.

Hey, BIB, what happens when you click auto-update? If it does nothing, then read this from EA:
"Question
Why can’t I patch my game? My Internet Explorer does nothing.

Answer
This is caused by your internet security and/or internet privacy is set too high. To correctly configure your settings perform the following steps:

1. Open a Internet Explorer browser
2. Click on tools
3. Click on "Internet options"
4. Under the privacy tab, make sure the slider is set to medium.
5. Under the security tab, click the "Custom Level" button and make sure the drop down box is also set to medium.
6. Click on "OK" and exit Internet Explorer.

You should now be able to up date the game. "

i have tried their website and their most common asked questions. Nothing works for me.
sometimes it says patch installed, but when i play the game it is not and i still cannot get online.
other times it gives me an error.
other times it just freezes up and does nothing, then i get that program not responding.
i have tried everything on the tech support site and nothign works.

i have once gotten the update, but then i had to reformat so i know that i can get it. When i get it the first time, i add all of these same problems, but i just kept trying it and it worked once. I have tried at least 50 times today and nothing.

Id try File planet they generally have this sort of stuff, Fansites often have them too. May have to spend some time on google, but it may turn something up.
