Yep, mines set at 70, saved me once when I forgot to plug in the fan, still remember my mom screaming at me when the computer just spontaneously turned off. ;)

Mine was set at 60 i believe, I had a friend of mine over playing, and then my computer just spontaniously shut off, no windows shutting down or blue screen, just pop, off. . . My friend had his food on my tubing for the water cooling, I have yet to shove it all in the case :)
Just get a tornado:eek:

I got a no-name 50 CFM 80mm fan on my Heatsink and I know when it's on... I can hear it through my door in the living room... 55 dB is enough noise for me.
I would say you have a little headroom as long as you've got the heatsink on there... I didn't put my heatsink on correctly one time and I booted into bios and it was at 74*C needless to say it scared the **** out of me, but to no ill result.
i forgot to put a HSF on my althon once  board autoshut off so chip was still alive thank god. this was almost 3 years ago, never had a mistake like that since.
