View Full Version : [SOLVED] BEST INTEL CPU AT 100MHZ
The answer depends on what you mean. Do you mean that you want to run the CPU at 100 FSB because your motherboard is limited to 100 and can't run at 133??
Or do you mean that you want to buy a chip that is rated at 100 so you can try to up the FSB to over 100 (like to 133 or around 133)??
The answer is different depending on what you mean.
If your board won't do more than 100 then you might be able to overclock a Celeron designed at 66 FSB to run at 100. If your board goes higher than 100 then you will want to buy a PIII that is designed to run at 100 and step it up.

I would say the 600E, 700E, and maybe even the 650,all these run at 100mhz, and are very clockable,
but you takes Yo chances when buying a chip.
I wouldn't buy an oem chip anymore...I think they are all or most all are being pretested so go with a retail boxed cpu, or order a pretested cpu from somebody like pcnut.com....btw, you didn't mention which formfactor u want...370 or slot1?
Da Head Nut says they tested a buttload of 750 flipchips, and they were all junk, quite possibly the worst of the line. I must'a got lucky with my oem 600...I bought it at a comp show, and except for troubleshooting this chip has never seen the default bus speed, and ran great with default voltage up to 840mhz, after that, I had to raise the voltage to get more speed, and I am still at 1.9v @ 154fsb....I have tried to lower the voltage, to no avail. but I am happy with the cBo 600E, and I just ordered a cCo 700e from PCNUT.com

I MEAN THAT I WANT TO KNOW WHICH INTEL CPU RUNNING AT 100MHZ HAS THE HIGHER MULTIPLIER?
MY FRIEND GOT A 850(8.5*100)
IS THERE A 900(9*100) OR A 950(9,5*100)?
Are you going to overclock with 100 FSB as the starting point?
Probably the fastest 100 MHz bus P-III that's readily available would be the 900.

i believe there's a Pentium III 1000E (10X100)...
seriously, i'd get a 650E or 700E and overclock it to at least 133. better value than getting a 750E or 800E.
=)
