I am trying to network an old E-machine 300mhz Celeron for folding. The heatsink has no fan, the motherboard has no identification that I can find on it. I put in some spare Kingston (office depot variety, 256mg of ram in it.) Any advice to bump this up a little bit for folding? It is running Win Me. I have not been able to get to the BIOS to try anything.

I am getting a hub next week, and am going to install some older computers to fold. I am new to overclocking, and only have experience with AMD. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's probably a Trigem mobo and probably not overclockable. At least not without modding it. I think there is a BSEL mod that fools the mobo into thinking it's a 100 FSB default. Like maybe covering a pin? Look at the Intel CPU condensed sticky.

I will look at the sticky!

Oh yeah, it might depend on what chipset that mobo is and whether it supports 100 FSB CPUs... that will depend on whether the BSEL mod will work. For example, the LX chipset on some of those old mobos did not support 100 FSB processors, so you would not have the PCI dividers let alone the 100 FSB.
