Just got the old crash to windows while running the 3dmark2000 loop. Is this a voltage issue, a heat issue, is it bad memory? Thanks for any suggestions.

Does it also do that when NOT overclocked (both CPU and vid)? What temps are you reading?

OPENFRIDAY!!! Your temps are way high!!! Is that IDLE or full load? If it is full load still way to high!!! IF IDLE then better change heatsink, or put some thermal grease.

thats all the time. the core temp has NEVER changed. full load or anything. my system temp changes when i oc my vid card.....i think my temps are just fine. but when i pick up my duron and new hsf for duron (whenever i get it) i'll be picking up some arctic silver and i'll put some on this "luke warm" chip. 53c is nothing. my buddies got a P3500 @58c.

Hmmm.... so 53c is nothing? My P3 takes 34c full load, and 22-25 idle, and that is with an GOrb. System temp ranging from 19-23, after I installed a big ass fan to the side.

I strongly suggest that you tell your friend that his P3 is WAY too hot (and so is yours)! Especially with a P3! Is his heatsink seated properly, using thermal grease? (And how about your heatsink?)

Try taking the sides off the case for a while, see how much it does for the temps. Maybe this will let you run a complete 3DMark?

took the sides off my case and only my system temp dropped. dropped 4c. so you think heat is why i cant run 3dmark? i could before (3 weeks ago) my friend dosent care as long as his comp works. i would care if it got that high. and i will start caring if it is heat thats causeing 3dmark to freeze. well it'll be a while before i get some arctic silver so i guess i'll have to stick it out till then. i for some reason think its my video card. but i'll put that theory to rest once my new one ships in (by tues-thurs). well i'll get back to you all.

Does this mean that you are using no thermal grease at the moment? That could certainly explain why your temps are so high.

The colder the CPU, the longer it lasts, and the better it overclocks!

Have you tried running 3Dmark when it isn't overclocked, and see if it still crashes? And how about uninstalling and then reinstall 3Dmark?
